Parquet restoration
Old parquet is often in better shape than it looks. Restoration brings back its good looks and extends its life.
Solid parquet that has spent years under a carpet or layers of old lacquer is often perfectly sound underneath. First we check whether the strips are firm, whether any creak or are missing and how much wood is left for sanding.
Then we repair the damaged parts, sand the parquet back to sound wood, fill the gaps and finish it with lacquer or oil. After restoration the floor looks new while keeping the character of the old wood.

What we pay attention to
Checking the condition
During the visit we check whether the strips are firm, how much wood is left and whether restoration makes sense. If it does not, we tell you.
Repairs
We fix loose strips, replace damaged ones where possible and fill larger gaps before we start sanding.
A new finish
The restored floor is finished with lacquer or oil. You can also choose a different look from before, for example matt instead of gloss.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions
Is restoration worth it, or is new parquet better?
If the parquet is solid and the strips are firm, restoration usually costs less than new parquet and the floor looks new afterwards. With thin engineered parquet or badly damaged floors it is sometimes better to lay new. We will tell you after a visit.
Can you restore parquet in an old house?
Yes. Old solid parquet in houses is often very well suited to restoration. We respect the character of the room and suggest a finish that suits it.
Can we change the look of the parquet when restoring it?
After sanding the wood is bare again, so you can choose a different finish, for example matt lacquer instead of gloss, or oil instead of lacquer. We discuss the options during the visit. Call 041 829 532.
